Shannon Freed is a tattooer and body piercer by trade. She was born in Seoul and raised in Washington, DC. Punk rock and heavy metal have made a major influence on her art’s aesthetic drawing from the contrasts of folklore, storytelling, politics, and the human condition. Many years of traveling through the US, Europe, and Asia eventually landed her back in academia to study cultural anthropology - earning her degree at Columbia University in 2017. She is currently a small business owner and entrepreneur in the creative field based in New York City.
